Cats For Christ

The college world is large and sometimes overwhelming. Keeping a handle on schoolwork, tough professors, hectic dorm life and even friends can prove to be a challenge at UK. But God is asking you a question right now, “Will you let me fit into this?” If so, an amazing opportunity is waiting for you to walk beside God in a powerful way through your years at UK.  CATS for CHRIST is a campus ministry at the  University of Kentucky  and we are ready to surround you with a community of people who love God and want you to know you belong here. Our friendships are strong and our campus ministry in energizing. Our goal is simply to make a difference on this campus for Jesus.

Here is how to get connected:

ENCOUNTER

Every Wednesday during the school year, our campus ministry gets together at 8:00pm in UK Gatton Student Center room 331 to talk about some of the things that matter most. At Encounter, we build relationships, we worship, we talk, we study, and we pray. It is a great mid-week opportunity to re-center ourselves and to grow in Christ both individually and communally.

SUNDAY SUPPER

On most every Sunday night at 7:00, students find their way to the Cats Room at Southside to enjoy a home-cooked meal prepared by one of our families. These suppers are definitely a highlight of our weekly calendar; students make a point to get back to Lexington in time for Sunday Supper if they have been out of town for the weekend. With great food and great friends, it is a perfect way to transition into the next week of classes.

SUNDAY CLASS AND WORSHIP AT SOUTHSIDE

All students are encouraged to join the Southside family in weekly worship. Before our 10:30am worship services, we also host a class time for college students at 9:30am in the Cats Room. It is a great time for small group conversation and for growth in the Word.

OTHER COOL STUFF GOING ON

Bible studies

We have weekly small group Bible studies for our girls and guys.

Service

We intentionally seek out opportunities that will expose our students to ways that they can serve in and around Lexington.

Travel

In addition to going on an annual spring break service trip, we take a fall retreat every year and head to Panama City Beach every January to attend Gulf Coast Getaway with about 1,200 other college students.
